Installation video of all the steps and materials used when installing the ENSOLCOMP system.
ENSOLCOMP Thermal Insulation Foam Boards are designed to provide superior thermal insulation for roofs. The boards are constructed with an expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam core, reinforced with high-strength alkaline-resistant fiberglass fabric and coated with a proprietary cementitious coating. The unique "Airflow" channel ventilation technology ensures that the boards have a thermal insulation value of R-7.69. The boards can be installed on top of existing solid wood decks, OSB or CDX plywood, and directly under asphalt shingles, reducing thermal energy transference at the external energy entry point. The boards are designed in a ship-lapped fashion to eliminate any thermal breaks in the system.
All ENSOLTIS products are crafted with the highest quality raw materials, proven to withstand the test of time. Our products have been designed to work in all climates, and have been rigorously tested to ensure their durability and performance, even in extreme temperatures. Our low water permeation makes our products ideal for all weather conditions, and we have passed all required tests. On average, our products weigh 70 pounds per 100 square feet, satisfying the reroof requirements set by the state of California, which states that they must weigh no more than 500 pounds per 100 square feet.
ENSOLCOMP lifetime thermal vented provides superior performance and insulation. These thermal vented insulation are made of an overlayed fiberglass fabric and a proprietary cementitious coating that bridges the air channels, reducing compression and deflection when installed. The boards' L-shaped flanges and abutment members form flexible, non-rigid connections, creating a formidable surface that significantly reduces thermal energy transference at the point of external energy entry. This thermal reduction system covers 2" inches of EPS foam, providing superior sound transmission reduction and insulation, especially in areas near airports and freeways.
ENSOLCOMP is a revolutionary thermal vented insulation system that has been tested and certified by accredited third-party laboratories. It has been proven to reduce energy flow into the attic plenum up to four times more than a standard asphalt shingle system. Furthermore, it can reduce attic temperatures up to 50 degrees Fahrenheit in warmer climates, leading to a potential 50% reduction in utility bills based on a local utility company's tiered rate schedule. Not only is this an incredible energy-saving measure, but it also exceeds the prescriptive requirements for High-Performance Attics.
The ENSOLCOMP is a crucial component of a Class A Fire-Rated Insulating Roof System and was tested as part of a Class A fire-rated steep sloped roof system without affecting the results of the Asphalt Shingles fire test. The Reports and Brochure confirm that the fire rating of the asphalt shingles is maintained. ENSOLCOMP is designed to maintain its R-value throughout the lifespan of the installed roofing shingles and are also water-resistant.
The advanced airflow channels and ample intake provide a continuous air flow underneath the asphalt shingles, helping to reduce excessive heat buildup on hot and sunny days by keeping the underside cool.
